Classes and times for 2020

  Beginners Sewing

Monday mornings 10 am - 12 noon.

A new class especially to give confidence to new sewers and those who need some refreshing of their skills.

Beginning with setting up your machine and basic sewing tasks to gain skills so you can go on to your own projects.

Contact me so I can cater to your needs. This two hour class is $28 each week.


Wednesday mornings 9.30am - 12.30pm.

In this class we cover topics to enhance your garments and make them unique; topics for 2020 include felting, machine and hand embroidery, bias work, up-cycling, piecing, dyeing and printing, creating accessories such as hats, gloves and scarves.

Each month is a new topic in which different techniques are demonstrated and you can try samples, then apply to the garment or accessory of your choice.

Bring your own Project 

Friday afternoons 1-4pm.

This is a class where I help you create your individual garment projects. I can give guidance in selecting, fitting and altering patterns to you, then help you cut and professionally assemble and finish your garments. All levels are catered for. There are cutting tables, machines and overlockers or you can bring your own.

Friday Mornings 9.30 - 12.30 pm

A class to explore patternmaking suitable to all levels. In this class I will show you how to use basic blocks to make different pattern designs for skirts, tops, dresses and trousers. All techniques such as square blocking, pivoting, contour sectioning are taught, as you create individual  patterns for your new wardrobe, test the fit and select appropriate fabrics to assemble them. This class starts in February.  Topics for 2020 are -Zero waste patterns, Collar and sleeve variations, Pockets, Tailored collars and double breasted garments, Draped patterns, new skirts and trouser shapes, Jumpsuits, Magyar and Raglan designs.You may join this class to learn techniques using basic size blocks, the construction of individual blocks however will require private help.

Size of Classes-

The classes are kept to a maximum of 8 students to guarantee individual attention and guidance.

Cost of Classes-

$40 for a three hour class paid each week in class.
